The Garmin Portable Friction Mount is exactly that, it is a mount for your Garmin GPS that stays in place on your dashboard via friction.

No doubt you are sick and tired of your suction mount right? I mean in cold weather it can be a right pain getting them to stick, and if you clean your windows with any kind of cleaning fluid on the inside then kiss your suction goodbye, plus the biggest problem, thieves…

I know it is sad to say it, but if you leave your suction mount in the car and just remove your satnav, then you are inviting thieves into your car. I know that is a sad way to look at it and we shouldn’t have to worry about it, but it is the unfortunate reality.

They know you just put your unit in your glovebox when you park up (well most people do), so if you have that suction mount then they know you are a valuable target.
